The principal belief of the Association is that all individuals have the correct to maintain, develop, express and share their cultural heritages and all are equally entitled to participate in and benefit from the activities of ethnic schools. Therefore, the objects of the Association are: to support activities for the development and benefit of ethnic schools. To support and coordinate the teaching of languages, history, geography and cultures of ethnic communities. To develop and encourage communication and cooperation between ethnic schools authorities. To coordinate and promote inter ethnic school social and cultural activities. To promote communication and cooperation with teachers, schools and institutions involved in languages teaching. An ethnic school is a nonprofit making, after hours language and culture school begin to all students irrespective of their linguistic background. All ethnic schools labor to sustain and prosper the languages and cultures of Australian communities. Most importantly, ethnic schools urge cohesion within the diversity of multicultural society. The competition which aimed to encourage and rejoice a love of learning languages in Australia was on the theme of what does learn language malicious to you?’. At any time, no more than two representatives of a notable language group can be on the Executive Committee, and each candidate for election to the Committee must be a representative nominated by a financial member of the Association. Assistance with drafting of correspondence to various government departments, agencies and authorities. Resource materials, reference books and access to computer and photocopying facilities.
